Local to Global Phenomena in Graph Theory

I will survey some of the most outstanding problems, results, and techniques in graph theory, all trying to better understand the influence of local structure on global structure in graphs. We will also briefly discuss a few of the diverse applications in mathematics and computer science

Prof. Jacob Fox - Bio

Jacob Fox is a professor of mathematics at Stanford University, with a courtesy appointment in computer science, and is the director of the Stanford Mathematics Research Center. He received his PhD in mathematics at Princeton in 2010. Following this, he joined the faculty of MIT and was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2014, before joining Stanford as a professor in 2015. Fox's research is in combinatorics and related areas of mathematics and computer science. Fox's research awards including the SIAM Dénes Kőnig Prize, a Packard Fellowship, a Sloan Fellowship, the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, and the Oberwolfach Prize. He was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2014
