Abstract:  In this talk we will introduce a new class of collective behavior models based on Cucker-Smale dynamics. The main feature of these models is emergence of global alignment through purely local communication protocol between agents. The novel mechanism of alignment is based upon inclusion of a topological component into diffusion making it adaptive to changing environment around interacting agents. We highlight some challenges that arise in the problem of global well-posendess for this new class of equations and discuss stability of flocks.
